Q&A: Teaching English in Vietnam Program
Hi I am curious what program you went through to teach overseas and whether you would recommend it?
The program I went through is called Teachers for Vietnam. They’ve only been around for a few years and they recruit people through word-of-mouth. I think they should be considered when thinking about teaching abroad programs. The experience and memories, whether good or bad, were worth it.
Hello Christina! I just found out about your travel blog and enjoy reading your blog! I also want to travel the world and help people. I was wondering if you had to pay for the airplane ticket to Vietnam yourself? Or is it provided by the program?
Teachers for Vietnam paid for my airfare to and from Vietnam. My soon-to-be housemate and I had to pay for the cost on our credit cards at first since it was up to us as to what day we wanted to leave, which was fine because I love racking in points on my card. In addition to airfare, they paid for half my TESOL certification class and group medical insurance.
