About
Thanks for visiting The Jewrican Traveler!
I started this blog as a way to document all the amazing places that I’ve been to and my tales of living and teaching English in Vietnam. I’m a Puerto Rican Jew, which I translate to mean I just want to have fun at an affordable price. I’m an adventure junkie and my friends would say I’m “predictable at being unpredictable.”
In 2009, I left the country for the first time to go on Birthright. Since that trip, I’ve become obsessed with traveling. It was during that same year that I decided to take my new hobby to the next level. I ended up leaving my corporate job, apartment, friends and family in order to move to Vietnam.
I hope you enjoy the posts and are inspired to do something similar!

Here are some other facts about me:
- I’m terrified of flying, heights and squirrels.
- Israel to this day is still my favorite country.
- I’d try anything once, but the chances of me skydiving are extremely slim.
- If I only had one place to revisit in Southeast Asia, hands down it would be Bali.
- I’d rather spend more money on good food than on a good hotel.
- I had my bat mitzvah on the top of Mount Masada in Israel.
- The only reason I would ever revisit Vietnam is to see my old students. I miss and love them.
